Maeve Gillespie is a Canadian textile artist living in London, England. She works with post-consumer materials to investigate the stories held in what is left behind and thrown away. She is interested in disrupting the value systems attached to materials and ideas. She spent formative years in Saskatchewan, the landscape of which is an ongoing inspiration for her work.

Maeve studied fashion at Central Saint Martins, graduating with First Class Honours. She recently completed an 18-month residency with Edify Research Programme led by King's College London and the University of Edinburgh. During the residency, she created large-scale collaborative textiles with neuroscientists, psychologists, clinicians and people with lived experience of eating disorders. Maeve also leads community textile workshops for charities, galleries and schools.
